Why Our Francophone Section is a Game-Changer

Why Our Francophone Section is a Game-Changer

Our Francophone section is open to all students, from native French speakers to those still learning the language. You don’t need to speak French at home or plan to study in France later — it’s about giving every student the opportunity to thrive in a multilingual, European environment. Beyond learning in French, the section also offers unique advantages.

Build a Strong Language Foundation

At the European School of Mol, languages are at the heart of our education. Students don’t stop at their mother tongue — they learn a second, third, and sometimes even a fourth language.

For example, a student in the Francophone section who chooses English as their second language will grow up bilingual in French and English.

Special Opportunities for Flemish Students

The Francophone section is especially attractive for Flemish families. Here, students can master both French and Dutch, with around half of their lessons taught in a language other than French.

We are the only European School that offers the rare opportunity to take Dutch as a second language — a real advantage in Belgium and beyond.

Small Classes, Personalised Support

As the smallest of our three language sections, students in the Francophone section benefit from smaller class sizes and more individualised support whenever needed.

Native Speakers

The Francophone section is of course also the smart choice for native French speakers. It connects them with their language and culture while preparing them for studies in Belgium, France, or elsewhere. Should they return to the French schooling system, for example, they can slot right in without repeating a year. European School graduates have the same rights as nationals in their countries of origin, which is an advantage when applying for competitive university places.

Why Choose the Francophone Section?

In short, the Francophone section offers:

  • The chance to become bilingual in French and another major language
  • A rare chance to master two official Belgian languages: French and Dutch
  • An excellent student–teacher ratio

The Francophone section is more than just studying in French — it’s about opening doors to languages, cultures, and future opportunities across Europe.
