Responsibilities
As an educational support teacher, you will:
- Work with pupils who need Educational Support and who have special educational needs
(learning, emotional, behavioural and/or physical needs) - Provide General support to small groups in or outside the classroom as well as Moderate and Intensive support in small groups or individual support in or outside the classroom
- Use appropriated differentiated teaching methods and support pupils in developing appropriate learning strategies using adapted teaching material
- Undertake detailed observation and assessment and supports Class and Subject teachers in early identification of educational support needs
- Decide on the most appropriate teaching strategies for the pupil, in consultation with the class or subject teacher and any other professionals working with the pupil
- Write a GLP for the group receiving General support and an ILP for each pupil receiving moderate or intensive support in cooperation with the class/subject teacher
- Liaise and work under the coordination of the EdSup Coordinator
- Liaise and cooperate with the Class or Subject teachers and the other members of the team during the learning process, advising them on the various learning profiles of pupils with specific learning needs and special education needs and innovative approaches in teaching and learning to cater for those needs
- Liaise with external experts and therapists working under tripartite agreement
- Evaluate the pupil’s progress
- Keep records of achievement to have accessible information when needed
- Liaise with parents about the child’s progress and need
- Attend meetings and training work
- Take responsibility for their continuous professional development, including reflecting on their (own) practice and continually learning and updating their knowledge

- Qualified teacher for secondary school
Candidates without the appropriate diploma cannot be considered for this position - Specific qualification in educational support, inclusive education or special needs
- Experience in providing educational support, inclusive education or special needs
- Qualified teacher for secondary school
- Language
- Native French speaker or excellent language knowledge level C2
- Good knowledge of English and or Dutch
- Knowledge of one of the other vehicular languages (EN/FR/DE) are an asset
- Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium
- Candidates must be in possession of a recent DBS check ("Certificate of good conduct")
Selection procedure

- Diplomas obtained outside the EU must undergo homologation, e.g. via NARIC Vlaanderen
- Shortlisting based on diplomas, resume and motivation letter
- Interview with the selection committee
- Second interview with the school director for the 2 best selected candidates
- Validation of the diploma by a national inspector
Suitable candidates will be added to the recruitment reserve list. We keep this list for a maximum of 3 years.
Offer

- Brut monthly salary € 3.106,90 for 10 periods per week
