Responsibilities
- Teaching primary pupils in the first grade of Primary, Anglophone section
- To develop in the pupils the interest and the attraction for learning a second language
- Follow the European Schools’ curriculum
- Motivated to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment
- Motivated to work with your section colleagues and teachers from the other sections
- Follow the syllabus of the European schools (https://www.eursc.eu/en/European-Schools/studies/syllabuses)
Profile and requirements
- A pedagogical Degree or relevant teaching qualification (QTS). Candidates without the appropriate diploma cannot be considered for this position.
- Native English speaker or a level equivalent to a native speaker
- Recent experience as a primary school teacher: candidates must have the skills required to work with young children
- Have the qualification to teach English as a foreign language, have the qualification to teach Irish as a second language is a strong asset
- The harmonisation of work between language sections as a part of the school project is indispensable
- Collaborative spirit with colleagues, management and families
- Knowledge of at least one of the other European vehicular languages (FR-DE) and/or NL is an asset
- Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium
- Candidates should be in possession of a recent DBS check (“Certificate of good conduct”)
Selection procedure
- Candidates can send their applications via the school website
- Only CVs in Europass format (in English) can be considered
- Diplomas obtained outside the EU must undergo homologation, e.g. via NARIC Vlaanderen
- Shortlisting based on diplomas, resume and motivation letter
- Interview with the selection committee
- Second interview with the school director for the 2 best selected candidates
- Validation of the diploma by a national inspector
Suitable candidates will be added to the recruitment reserve list. We keep this list for a maximum of 3 years.
Offer
- A dynamic job in an international environment
- A fulltime contract according to the Service regulations for locally recruited teachers in the European Schools (Ref.: 2016-05-D-11-en-1) starting on 16/04/2026 and ending on 16/06/2026, with the possibility of prolongation
- Brut monthly salary € 45,08 per hour (Full time = 25.5 hours per week)

Contract creation
