ICT Technician / System Administrator

Responsibilities

Under the hierarchical authority of the school director, the ICT Technician is responsible for:

  • Innovation: Implement innovative ICT solutions to increase “digital capacity” based on the European Framework for Digital Competence of Educators.
  • Staff support: Advise and train school staff on the use of digital tools (e.g., MS Teams, interactive whiteboards) to improve teaching methods.
  • Digital safety: Educate students and teachers on the safe and responsible use of the internet.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the ICT team and directors to develop the school's digital strategy.
  • System maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain hardware (workstations, tablets, printers) and software (Office 365, learning management systems).
  • Network and security: Manage user accounts, monitor network performance, ensure firewalls and filtering are active, and perform regular backups. Help desk support: Providing technical assistance to staff and students through a ticketing system or direct classroom support.
  • Asset management: Maintaining records of hardware, software licenses, and inventory.

Profile and requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in ICT, with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Knowledge of Windows server, Meraki, NinjaOne, O365 incl. Power Automate
  • Excellent command of English
  • Knowledge of Dutch being an asset or commitment to learn it in a period of 3 years.
  • Other EU languages will be an asset.
  • Organizational flexibility, proactivity and ability to follow up on files independently
  • Be in possession of a recent certificate of good conduct (type 2).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of ICT support (experience in an educational environment is a plus)
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team.
  • Good presentation.
  • Willingness to solve problems and take initiative.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium
  • Candidates have to be in possession of a recent DBS check ("Certificate of good conduct")

  • Second interview with the school director for the 2 best selected candidates

Offer

  • A fulltime contract according to the Service Regulations of Administrative and Ancillary Staff: (Ref.: 2007-D-153-en) starting on 02/03/2026
  • Brut monthly salary € 4 795,48 for 37,5 hours/periods per week
  • Each employee is entitled to 30 days of holiday leave per calendar year, in addition to the public holidays set by the European Commission (+/- 16 days per year).
  • Moreover, your children may register freely at one of the European schools, under restriction of the enrolment policy for European schools.
