Responsibilities
- Work under the hierarchical authority of the school director.
- Building and installations supervision.
- Assistance in the preparation of public procurement and the drafting technical specifications.
- The organisation and monitoring of internal and external controls and works related to the facilities.
- Collaborate with the follow-up of the work organised by the Buildings Agency (REGIE).
- Assist in the preparation of the various files (environmental permits,...) following requests from the administrator and the prevention advisor.
- Various manual maintenance work: masonry, plumbing, painting, electricity, carpentry, mechanics, gardening.
- Goods receipt and inventory management.
- Fitting out classrooms and meeting rooms.
- Moving equipment and furniture within the school.
- Other miscellaneous work on request.
- Possibility of working occasionally outside the standard hours.
Profile and requirements
- At least a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, with a minimum of 3 years.
- Excellent command of English.
- Knowledge of Dutch being an asset or commitment to learn it in a period of 3 years.
- Other EU languages will be an asset.
- Organizational flexibility, proactivity and ability to follow up on files independently
- Be in possession of a recent certificate of good conduct (type 2).
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of building maintenance.
- Autonomous in the building fields (masonry, plumbing, carpentry, finishing, electricity).
- Ability to work in a multicultural team.
- Good presentation.
- Willingness to solve problems and take initiative.
- Organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium
- Candidates have to be in possession of a recent DBS check ("Certificate of good conduct")
Selection Procedure

- Interview with the selection committee
- Second interview with the school director for the 2 best selected candidates

- Brut monthly salary € 5 827,33 for 37,5 hours/periods per week
- Each employee is entitled to 30 days of holiday leave per calendar year, in addition to the public holidays set by the European Commission (+/- 16 days per year).
- Moreover, your children may register freely at one of the European schools, under restriction of the enrolment policy for European schools.
