The European School of Mol is recruiting: 1 Learning support teacher Nursery/Primary for the Anglophone section

Responsibilities

  • Pupils’ Learning support teacher (L1 or L2 EN, Mathematics) for Nursery/Primary
  • The support teacher collaborates with the class teacher and coordinates his pedagogical actions with the support/SEN assistant and the support coordinator.
  • The teacher uses differentiated and appropriate teaching methods.
  • The teacher opts for the pedagogical strategies best suited to the pupil in consultation with the main or subject teacher and any professional working with the pupil.
  • Good knowledge of the specificities of learning disabilities as well as the tools and adaptations to be promoted.
  • The teacher records the achievements in order to have information available if necessary.
  • The teacher collaborates and endorses the instructions of the support coordinator and the Management.
  • The teacher attends class council meetings and any other pedagogical meetings.

Profile and requirements

  • Pedagogical diploma of the national system;
  • Necessary qualifications to teach as a learning support teacher;
  • Professional experience in the different areas of learning disabilities;
  • Possess recent experience working with children between 4 and 11 years old;
  • Excellent language knowledge of the section (level equivalent to the mother tongue);
  • Knowledge of another vehicular language (French and/or Dutch and/or German) is an asset;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Good knowledge of the European School system.
  • Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium
  • Candidates must be in possession of a recent DBS check ("Certificate of good conduct")

Selection procedure

  • Candidates can send their applications via the school website
  • Shortlisting based on diplomas, resume and motivation letter
  • Interview with the selection committee
  • Second interview with the school director for the 2 best selected candidates
  • Validation of the diploma by a national inspector

Suitable candidates will be added to the recruitment reserve list. We keep this list for a maximum of 3 years.

Offer

  • A two-year contract, according to the Service regulations for locally recruited teachers in the European Schools (Ref.: 2016-05-D-11-en-1) starting on 01/09/2024
  • 25.5 teaching hours per week
  • Contract of definite duration until 31/08/2026 with the possibility of prolongation
  • Removal costs (art. 37)
    "A locally recruited teacher recruited for a minimum period of one year and a contract providing a minimum of 16 hours/periods per week shall, as provided in Article 59 and Article 62 of the Regulations for Seconded Staff Members of the European Schools, be entitled to reimbursement of the expenses caused by the removal to the place of the school (...)".
  • Installation allowance (art. 37bis)
    "A locally recruited teacher recruited for a minimum period of one year and a contract providing a minimum of 16 hours/periods per week who furnishes evidence of having been obliged to change his/her place of residence and of having actually settled at his/her place of employment (...) shall be entitled (a) to an installation allowance (...)".

Contract creation

ES Mol is dedicated to the timely creation of contracts before the commencement of employment. Therefore, the selected candidate is required to provide additional information and these necessary documents will be requested for completion.
