Support for Gifted and Talented Pupils
How do we ensure that gifted learners are truly challenged and supported?
First and foremost, we strive to create an accessible learning environment through effective differentiation. Differentiation allows us to respond to a wide range of learning profiles and abilities within the classroom. This includes varied types of assignments, multiple modes of learning, and tasks offered at differing levels of complexity.
When in-class differentiation is no longer sufficient, we provide a range of additional programmes and targeted measures. In Primary School, this includes our Challenge Programme, which offers enriched learning opportunities for pupils who demonstrate exceptional motivation, talent, or ability. The programme supports both academic development and broader skills such as teamwork, independent problem-solving, and communication.
In Secondary School, pupils in S1 and S2 can participate in the Advanced Lab. This programme consists of creative, project-based learning designed to develop analytical skills and practical intelligence, and takes place during free periods. In S2, we also offer CBO screening. CBO (Centrum voor Begaafdheidsonderzoek) is an international expertise centre specialising in giftedness. The screening is a needs-analysis assessment comprising multiple subtests, enabling us to provide specifically tailored support based on each pupil’s profile.
From S3 to S7, pupils can take part in the Secondary School Challenge Programme, which focuses on independent work and individual projects, culminating in an end-of-year presentation.

Together, these opportunities extend beyond standard differentiation and are designed to nurture pupils who are ready for deeper intellectual and creative engagement.
